Today we set off from our stay at Camping CaboPino for the short drive to Malaga. Found a nice spot on the highway which hugs the coastline for a morning tea break (and manage that driver fatigue that the van keeps warning Bob about!).

We find the entrance road to our private campsite outside Malaga, and then backtrack to the Dia supermercado for the obligatory 2-3 day shop.
It’s late afternoon as we then return to the return to the camp entrance and follow the instructions up the driveway, and then turn right, left, right down a bit of a slippery dodgy gravel road - and we arrive,. The manager Adam greets us (he's quite friendly, which is good), and says "I have a lovely pitch for you with an sea view". Which is true, and if that’s all that mattered, then it would be great. But the site is basically carved off the side of the hill, it’s rocky ground, there is no shade, it’s baking hot (hate to be here in summer!), the bus stop is actually much further away back up hill than was indicated, and oh, what else, oh yes, the facilities!! There is a small demountable style building, third world, one toilet each for ladies and gents side by side with flimsy partitions, ditto for tiny shower cubicles, and a half arsed pergola common area to try to avoid the heat. Bottom line - it’s very very ordinary.
Nice view of ocean from campsite
The other campsiters are friendly enough but we realise we need to have a number of tatts, blue hair, dreadlocks and a nose ring or two - and possibly smoke a bit more weed to really fit in.

I try for well over half an hour to go to the toilet but I swear there's a man in there (only because I knocked on the toilet door and a grumpy male voice groaned "no"), and he never seemed to come out, so I resort to the gents. We decide over toasted sandwiches for dinner that we will be ‘one and done here’ and head off in the morning, maybe go into Malaga before heading to our next stop. Bob doesn’t sleep well tonight, says he was hot all night from the residual heat in the van, so that reinforces his desire too move on the next day.
The next day, we decide we're not going to go into Malaga - it's just all a bit too hard, so we move onto Nerja about an hour down the road.
So let's hope Nerja is a better experience for us.
Over and out for today.
