Motorhome patch repair - back to outside Cadiz

Hola

A little backtracking today as we head south from Sevilla past Cadiz to Conil de la Frontera, maybe a nice enough place in its own right - but really we are going to meet a man, David (Camper Heroes is his business name) to get a fix for the scratches down the passenger side caused by an aggressive old olive tree branch (or a horizontal post or someone else running down the side of the Van leaving some brown scratches that look a bit nasty).

We rock up to the campground (one that David suggests) at around 3.00pm, and David our Polish /UK/now Spanish living savior arrives a bit after 4.00pm. At first he expresses some concern as he is not a spray painter, but gets stuck into sanding the scratches on the plastics with wet n dry, and soon we hear an exclamation - is this good or bad?? Itโ€™s good, the scratches that appeared to be into the paint and exposing the black plastic are actually on the surface of the fully white moulded plastic. So the more he rubs (and he is fully into it) the more marks come off and we are left with just white plastic - yippee!!

After 2 hours of hard toil he is done and the result is really good. As he says he canโ€™t do anything about the divots in the plastic but otherwise it is all cleaned off and looking pristine white - best 100 bucks we have spent in this trip!! Bob is a happy man!!

Before and after shots below (the little bit of damage you can already see - ie screw falling out and bumper a bit misplaced) is damage that was already done to the van before we picked it up. Photos of that damage has already been recorded by Indie Campers so we don't need to worry about that.

This means that tomorrow morning, after a run to the Cabo Roche cliffs 3km from here, we can scoot back north and try to get to Carmona for a visit and to overnight for a second time in a free Municipal provided camp.

Tonight though we relax, cook in, and have a couple of wines as the burden of worry about our Insurance excess is somewhat eased.
Tally Ho!
