Easy day today (ha!) only 11,000 steps. We caught a train to the Ferry terminal and went first to "Time Out Market" which is a traditional market on one side and an artisan food/restaurant market on the other. Really wonderful market place - we had morning tea of pastel de nata (of course!) and checked out the bookshop upstairs- decide to go back for dinner tomorrow night.

Then we took the ferry over to Cacilhas (the Almada district of Lisbon) which is across the Tagus River overlooking Lisbon. We were accosted by restaurant touts straight off the boat. Wandered around the quay and paid 2€ to go through a Submarine (money well spent - amazingly interesting).

Found pharmacy and bought the worlds most expensive sun cream, which Bob commented on in the pharmacy so the pharmacy lady followed us outside shop, and said we have one at discount price and same thing, so switched it over and thus only bought worlds second most expensive sun cream.
Wandered back to quay and went to restaurant where Bob had told the guy earlier we would come back and he was very pleased to see us. Ordered "seafood rice" and swordfish, both very nice actually, and Bob washed his down with large beer. I utterly destroyed my sword fish getting it of the bone (must learn how to do that) and Bob got smelly fingers from handling all the seafood in his seafood rice dish. All very fresh and delicious.

From there we wandered along waterfront to Almada and past a couple of waterfront restaurants and went up the lift to the cliff top and admired the view of the Golden Gate Bridge (not really just looks like it), and then up to Casa Cerca where for free you could wander their beautiful grounds and take more photos of Lisbon, the bridge, etc. also free entry to Contemporary Art exhibition in the Casa - hhmm let’s just say some ‘art’ is an acquired taste.

Back down the elevator with a Chinese guy (excellent American English) who had ridden his bike from Stockholm to Lisbon (63 days and counting), literally just finalising his pilgrimage, and caught ferry back with us, spending 2 days in Lisbon and flying home - looked like he had worn same pants for 63 days! - travelling very light with tent and tiny bag strapped to bike. (Said he had lost 7kg also , so maybe that’s what we need to do …..).
Adeus for now
